Prior to the start of the manufacturing and fabrication process the level of surveillance should be established.  Continuous or periodic surveillance is determined by the items technical complexity, criticality of service of the item, vendor’s history, and our customers own requirements. Process Safety Management programs have been implemented at almost every site in the USA, if not, then you may want to start now to insure compliance. PetroSpect has implemented several corrosion monitoring software’s at various facilities which include Ultra-Pipe, PCMS, Meridian and Pipe-Plus. Once P&ID’s have been verified to be correct and updated a simple classification of API-570 systems can then be circuitized and systemized to fit your facility. Once data has been collected and entered into your preferred software, monitoring will then begin. The key to any PSM program is to collect accurate data, enter it correctly and maintain consistency; with these steps covered you will then be on track for maintaining a safe and reliable facility.
